Application of 3D geological ore hand specimen reconstruction based on 3D GS technology

Abstract:To achieve high-precision 3D modeling of geological ore hand specimens at low cost using ordinary shooting equipment,a practical research on low-cost 3D reconstruction engineering was carried out,and a 3D reconstruction method for geological ore hand specimens based on 3DGS technology was proposed. Ordinary smartphones were used to capture multi-view images of geological specimens,and then 3DGS technology was applied to perform image correction,point cloud generation and Gaussan fiting processing,thus constructing a complete engineering process for 3D reconstruction of geological specimens.LOD technology was adopted to realize the adaptation of 3D reconstruction models to AR/VR scenarios.The method proposed in this paper was verified through practical applications. The verification results show that the restoration accuracy can reach 94.01% ,the average geometric error of the model is only 0.21mm ,and the implementation cost is 14,0OO to 40,000 RMB. After LOD optimization,the model is uploaded to the mobile AR platform,enabling smooth interaction at 55 FPS.
