Study on preparation and properties of injectable hydrogel microspheres for orthopaedic therapy

Abstract:Sodium alginate hasbecome an important material for constructing injectable hydrogel systems due to its abundant natural sources,low cost and excellent biocompatibility.A large number of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups on its molecular chains provideactive sites for chemical modification,andthe gelation time,mechanical strengthand degradation rate can be preciselyregulated through various strategies suchas ionic cross-linking,oxidation-Schiff base reaction,enzyme-catalyzed cros-linking and photoinitiated covalent network construction.Studies have shown thatloading bioactive componentssuch as growth factors,stem cells,antibacterial agents and genevectors into sodiumalginate microspheres can forma three-dimensional bionic microenvironment insituafter injection,whicheffectivelysupportscelladhesion,proliferationand directional diferentiation.Thissystem exhibitsstrongapplicationvalue in the fieldsof cartilage repair,bone defect filing,chronic woundhealing and local sustaineddrug release,and is suitable for minimally invasive interventional therapy scenarios.
