Influence of modified nanomaterials on aging resistance of EVA adhesive film

Abstract:Three nano-oxides (silicon oxide,magnesium oxide,and aluminum oxide)of the same period were selected and incorporated into photovoltaic EVA adhesive filmsviathe tape casting and extrusion process.The light transmitance,acid value afteraging,andaging peel strength of the prepared films were tested.Theresultsshowed that under the same conditions,the film prepared with magnesium oxide exhibited the lowest acid valuebut a decrease in light transmitance.To further improve the dispersibility and aging resistance of magnesium oxide,three types of silanes(KH570,KH56O,andA171)were used for itssurface modification.TheEVAadhesive films with modified magnesium oxideshoweda significant improvement in light transmitance.PID aging tests indicatedthatthe photovoltaic modules encapsulated with KH56O-modified magnesium oxide films suffered the mildest batery corrosion after192 h of PID aging,with a power attenuation of less than 5% —a performance significantly superior to that of films modifiedwith KH570 or A171.The incorporation of modified nano-oxides into EVA adhesive films has greatly enhanced the reliability of photovoltaic modules.
