Study on durability evolution of hydraulic engineering concrete considering the influence of age

Abstract:To quantify the influence of ageonthedurabilityof hydraulic engineering concrete,a multi-age test scheme was designed and implemented inthisstudy,and asystematicexperimental analysis was conductedon indicators icluding compressive strength,chloride ion difusion coeffcient,carbonation depth and freeze-thaw cycles. Theresults showed that with the extension of age,the compressive strength ofconcrete increased significantly,while its permeabilityand deterioration sensitivity decreased remarkably.Among them,thechloride ion difusioncoefficient of the specimens at 18O d age decreased by 63.2% and the dynamic elastic modulus attenuation rate reduced by 66.7% compared with the 7 d group.Structural detection indicated that the decrease in porosity,the narrowing of theinterfacial transition zone(ITZ)width and the increase in the proportion of gel pores were the core mechanisms for the improvement of concrete performance.An age-diffusion index model was established based on the measured data,with the prediction deviation controlled within 4.7% .Thisstudy verifies the important value of extending the wet curing age in improving the servicestabilityof hydraulic engineering concrete,and provides theoretical support for durability design and optimization of curing strategies.
