Study on preparation of a chitosan gel application and intervention on pressure injury

Abstract：Aiming at the poor intervention effect of traditional foam dressings on pressure injuries，anew type of traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）gel dressing was introduced.Firstly，the preparationand properties of the TCM gel dressing were characterized，and then itsclinical application effect wasanalyzed.Theresults showed that the TCM gel dressing produced by this manufacturer could reach swelling equilibrium in about 6O sseconds，with the bacteriostatic rates against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus both exceeding 99 % ，the DPPH free radical scavenging rate being 56% ，the hydroxyl free radical scavenging rate being 49 % ，the pig skin bonding strength being 1.7MPa and the water content being 98% ，exhibiting excellent comprehensive properties. When the dressing was applied to the intervention and nursing of clinical pressre injuries，3 patients developed gradeIpresure injuries，only 1 patient developed grade I pressure injuries，no patients developed grade I and grade IV pressure injuries，the incidence of pressure injuries was only 10% ，and the patient satisfaction rate reached 100% ，showing a favorable clinical application effect.

压力性损伤常发生在长期卧床或身体局部长期受压的人群身上，从轻微的皮肤发红、水泡，到严重的皮肤全层缺失，不仅会给患者带来巨大的身体痛苦，还会增加感染风险，引发一些严重并发症，危及生命。（剩余4752字）
