Mechanism and protection strategy of metal corrosion in industrial wastewater treatment plants under chloride ion environment

Abstract:Againstthe backdropof therapiddevelopmentof industrializationinChina,thestableoperationof industrialwastewatertreatment plants isthekeytoachievingthestandarddischargeof wastewater.However,thecorrosion of metal structures caused by high-concentration chloride ions in the industrial wastewater treatment process has become a major hidden danger restricting their normal operation.This paper analyzes the corrosion mechanism of chlorideions on metal materials,focuses on several common corrosion forms in industrial wastewater treatment systems, including pitingcorrosion,crevicecorrosion,galvaniccorrosionand stresscorrosion,and further explores theeffects of key factors such as chloride ion concentration,temperature, pH value ,flow rate and microbial concentration on the corrosionrate.Finally,combined withtheactual operating conditionsof industrial wastewater treatment plants,chloride ioncorrosion-resistantprotection strategiessuitablefordiferentworkingonditionsareproposed,aiming toprovidetheoretical reference for the metal protectionof industrial wastewater treatment plants inchloride ionenvironments.
