Study on hydrophilic mineral reaction mechanism analysis and reinforcement of red bed soft rock slopes

Abstract:A systematic study was conducted on the water softening of red bed soft rocks,which shows that softening is the result of the combined action of three microscopic physical and chemical proceses :water molecule penetration,hydrophilic mineral reaction and cement disolution.The hazards of such efects on the safety of buildings, roadsand bridges,geological environment and other aspects,aswell as theiraction mechanisms on themechanical strength of slopes and the stability of structural planes were analyzed.On this basis,three types of core control technologies weresorted out,including drainage andseepage prevention,slope reinforcementandsupport,and lithology improvement.It is proposed that future research should be strengthened in the correlation analysis of microscopic and macroscopic responses and the optimization of stability evaluation models,so as to provide technical support for engineering construction in red bed areas.
