Research on the analysis methods of polypropylene glycol content in adhesives

Abstract：The content of polypropylene glycol （PPG）with known grades inadhesives was determined by the external standard method using agel permeation chromatograph.Meanwhile，a method forrapidly estimating thecontent of unknown polypropylene glycol inadhesives was established bycombining gel permeation chromatography and thermogravimetric analysis.The resultsshowed that at a flow rate of 0.6mL/min and a column temperature of 404C ，polypropylene glycol had a good linearity in the mass concentration range of 125～2000mg/L ，therelative error of determining known samples was 1.7% ，the limit of detection and limit of quantitation of the method were 10.0mg/L and 30.0mg/L respectively，with good precision and repeatability. At the same time，the content of unknown polypropylene glycol inadhesivescould berapidlyestimatedbycalculating thepeak arearatioof polymer and polypropylene glycol and their total content in thermogravimetric analysis，with a relative error of 1.4% ·
