Research on self-healing technology for cracks in cement-based materials

Abstract:To improve the crack self-healing performance of cement-based materials,acrylicacid and acrylamide monomers were used asraw materials,supplemented with potassium persulfate as the initiator,polyethylene glycol diacrylate asthecroslinking agent,iron(II)acetylacetonate hydrateas thecatalystand wateras thesolvent,and the AA-AM copolymer cement-based material repair agent was prepared through copolymerization reaction.Meanwhile,bycontrollingthedoping amountofAA-AMcopolymer,cement mortartestblockswithself-healing performance and diferent doping amounts of AA -AM copolymer were prepared,and performance tests were carried out. The results showed that the AA-AM copolymer cement-based material repair agent had good water absorption performance and sustainable usability;the addition of AA -AM copolymer would reduce the compressive strength and flexural strength of cement mortar test blocks,but they were stillabove the minimum standard;under theactionof tap water environment,the widthof cracks repaired byAA-AMcopolymer wasreduced,and the repair performance of AA - AM copolymer was better at the doping amounts of 0.3% and 0.5% . It is concluded that different addition amounts can be selected according to the actual environment in practical application.
