Corrosion resistance analysis of titanium alloy in valve seat materials

Abstract:As a key component offluid control systems,the corrosion resistance of valve seat materials directly determines thereliabilityof valves.Based onthis,this study investigates the corrosion resistance and its mechanism of titanium alloys as valve seat materials,focuses on analyzing the excellent piting and crevice corrosion resistance of titanium alloys in chloride environments,and discusss the corrosion behaviorof titanium alloys commonlyused in industry i diferent corrosive media.Through electrochemical tests and immersion experiments,thecorrosionrate was quantitatively evaluatedandcompared with thatof traditional valve seat materials.Theresults show that titanium alloys exhibit farsuperiorcorrosion resistance to stainlesstel in most chloride media,wet chlorine gas,seawater and oxidizing environments,and are ideal materials for solving the problem of corrosion failure in key parts of valves.
