Effects of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Combined with Psychological Counseling on Auditory Hallucination Management and Sleep Quality in Patients with Schizophrenia

AbstractObjective：Toexploretheefectsofrepetitivetranscranial magneticstimulation（rTMS）combinedwithpsychological counselingonauditoryhalucinationmanagemenandsleequalityinhospitalizedpatientswithschizophrenia.Methods：Atotalof 90patients withschizophrenia whoweretreatedat Xianyue Hospitalof XiamenfromJanuary2O24to June2O25wereselectedas studyparticipantsandrandomlydivided intoacontrolgroupandanobservation group，with 45cases ineachgroup.Thecontrol group received routinenursing care，whiletheobservation groupreceived rTMScombined with psychological counseling.The Auditory Hallcination Subscaleof the Psychotic SymptomRating Scales（PSYRATS-AH）wasused toassessauditory halluination symptoms.The Pitsburgh Sleep Quality Index（PSQI）wasused toevaluatesleepquality.The Hospital Anxietyand Depresion Scale（HADS）was aplied toasess emotional states，and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale（PANSS）wasused to evaluate positive and negative symptom improvement.Results：After intervention，PSYRATS-AH scores intheobservation group were significantly lower than those in the control group（ P<0.05 ）. PSQI scores were significantly reduced in the observation group compared with the control group（ P<0.05. ）. Anxiety（HADS-A） and depression（HADS-D） scores in the observation group were also significantly lower than those in the control group（ P<0.05） . Furthermore，positive，negative，general psychopathology，and total PANSS scores in the observation group were all significantly lower than those in the control group（ P<0.05 ）. Conclusion ： rTMScombindwithpsychologicalcounselingcanefectivelyallviateauditoryhallucinations，mproveslepqualityducaietyanddepression，and promote improvement inboth positiveandnegative symptoms inpatients withschizophrenia.
