Effects of Adjuvant Therapy with Qingkailing Granule on Clinical Symptoms andSleep QualityinElderlyPatientswithBacterial AURI

AbstractObjective：To explore theeffect of adjuvanttherapy with Qingkailing granuleonclinical symptoms andsleepqualityin elderlypatientswithbacterialacuteupperrespiratorytractinfection（AURI）.Metods：Atotalof6Oelderlypatients withbacterialacuteupperrespiratoryinfectiontreatedintheafiliatedhospitalofJiangsu UniversitywereenroledbetweenJanuaryandDecember 2024.Acording torandom number table，the patients were divided into theobservation group andthecontrol group with 30casesineachgroup.Thetimeof clinical symptomsrelieving，inflammatorymarkers，Ptsburgh sleepqualityindex（PSQI） scores，adtheincidenceof adversereactions werecomparedbetwenthetwogroups.Results：The timetodefervescence，daysof cough，and time to pharyngeal erythema disappearing in observation group wereshorter than those in control group（all P<0.05 ） After thetreatment，levelsof whiteblodcellcount（WBC）andC-reactive protein（CRP）were decreased inboth groups，Thereduction was observed more dramatically in the observation group compared to the control group（both P<0.05 ）. PSQI scores were decreased in both groups after the treatment，which were lower in observation group（all P<0.05 ）. There was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups （ P>0.999 ）. Conclusion： Adjuvant therapy with Qingkailing granulescanefectivelyaleviateclinicalsymptomsandsignificantlyimprovesleepqualityinelderlypatients withbacterialacute upper respiratory infection.
