Pesticide Residue Testing and Analysis in Produced and Commercially Available Vegetables in Jieyang

Abstract: The paper aims to investigate the status of pesticide residues in produced and commercially available vegetablesinJieyang,soastoprovideascientificbasisforensuring thequalityandsafetyofvegetables.FromJanuaryto December 2025,atotal of 67O vegetable samples were randomlycollcted from markets,production bases and individual farmers in theJieyang area,including Puning City,Rongcheng County,Jiedong County,Jiexi County,and Huilai County.Gas chromatographywasused to detect pesticide residues inthese 67O samples,and the results were judged inaccordance with GB 2763—2O21National food safety standard—Maximum residuelimits for pesticides in fod,and the residue status ofdifferent types of highlytoxic pesticides wasanalyzed.Theresultsshow that thedetected pesticides exhibitagood linearrelationship,with correlation coefficients all greater thanO.997O,whichmeet theanalytical requirements for pesticide detection. Among the 670 vegetable samples,only 5 samples are found to contain pesticide residues, resulting in an unqualified rate of 0.75% . The unqualified varieties are mainly bitter melon, Chinese kale,and luffa,and the detected pesticides includeddichlorvos,sulfotep,and triazophos.Fromthedata perspective,the quality and safety status of produced and commerciallyavailable vegetables in the Jieyang area is generally safe,complying with the maximum residue limits specified in GB2763—2O21National foodsafety standard—Maximumresidue limits of pesticides in food,effectively safeguarding the health of the people.
