Analysis of Interference Factors in Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy for HeavyMetal Detection in Food

Abstract: Heavy metal contamination in food poses athreat to public health,and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) hasbecome the mainstream detection technique inthis fieldduetoits highsensitivityandstrong selectivity.However,in practicaldetection,various interferencefactors can easilyleadtobiased results.Based on the principles ofAASdetection andconsidering the complexityoffood matrices,this paper systematicallanalyzes the mechanisms and manifestations of common types of interference,including physical and chemical factors.It proposes mitigation strategies such as sample pretreatmentoptimizationandthe applicationof chemical modifiers,providing both theoreticaland practicalsupport for improving detection accuracy.
