AbstractObjective：To explore the impactofModified Xiaoxianxiong Decoctionon sleepqualityinobesepatients with type2 diabetes melltus（T2DM）andphlegm-heataccumulationsyndrome.Methods：Atotalof 6Oobese T2DMpatientswithphlegmheataccumulationsyndromeadmitedtoLongyan TraditionalChinese Medicine HospitalAfiliatedtoXiamen UniversityfromJanuary 2023 to December 2O24 were selected as thestudysubjects and divided intoacontrol groupandanobservationgroup using arandomnumbertable method，with 3Opatients ineach group.Thecontrol group was treatedwithmeforminsustained-release tablets，whilethebservationgroupreceivedModifiedXiaoxianxiongDecoctioninaditiontothecontrolgroup'streatmentThe Pitsburgh Slep QualityIndex（PSQI）wasusedtocomparethechanges insleepqualitybetweenthetwogroupsbefore and after intervention，andthePSG-2OO portablesleepmonitorwasusedtorecordslepdata beforeandaftertreatment，including idicatorssuch as frequencyof nightimeawakenings，sleeparchitecture，rapid eye movement（REM）sleepproportion，and non-REM phase3proportion.Results：After intervention，thefrequencyof nightimeawakeningsintheobservationgroupwassignificantly lower than thatin thecontrol group.The non-REM（NREM）slep proportion，REM sleepproportion，and NREM phase 3 proportionintheobservationgroupweresigificantlyhigherthanthoseinthecontrol group.ThePSQIscoreintheobservationgroupwas significantlylowerthanthatinthecontrolgroup，andthediferences between thetwogroupswerestatisticallysignificant（ P< 0.05）.Conclusion;Modified Xiaoxianxiong Decoctioncan significantly improve the sleepqualityofobese T2DMpatientswith phlegm-heat accumulationsyndrome，breakingthe viciouscycleof“metabolicabnormalities-poor sleep”，anddemonstrating high clinical application value.
