Intervention Study on Sleep Quality and Safety of Trazodone and Mirtazapine in Primary Chronic Insomn

AbstractObjective:Tocomparetheeficacyandsafetyof trazodoneand mirtazapineinthetreatmentof primarychronic insomnia.Methods:Atotalof98patientswithprimarychronicinsomniatreatedattheSixth HospitalofYong'anfromJanuary2021to March2024 were enrolled andrandomly assigned to the control groupor observation group(49 patientseach）using arandom numbertable.Thecontrol groupreceivedtrazodone treatment,whiletheobservationgroupreceived mirtazapine.Sleepquality was asseed usingthesburghSleeQualityIdex(PSQ).Totalsptim,seplatency,treatmentefectivenes,andincdenceof adversereactionswerecomparedbetwenthetwogroups.Results:Therewasnosignificantdiferenceintotal reatmentffectieness between the two groups after treatment( P>0.05 ). Total sleep time also did not difer significantly between groups ( P> 0. 05).Post-treatment,the observation group had significantly lower PSQI scores than the control group( P ). Conclusion: Trazodone and mirtazapine have different profiles of adverseractions inprimarychronicinsomnia.Mirtazapineismoreefectiveatimprovingsleepquality,whiletrazodonisoreeffectiveatshortening sleeplatency.Totalsleeptimeissimilarforbothdrugs.Medicationchoicecanbeindividualizedbasedonpatient needs.
