Research on the Current Development Status and Regulatory Countermeasures of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Functional Health Products Industry

Abstract: Underthedualdrives of the "Healthy China"strategyand consumption upgrading,the functional health food industry in China is experiencing rapid growth.However,there are some outstanding problems in industrialdevelopment: alagging legalandregulatorysystem leadingto fragmentedsupervision,low industryentrybarrierscausingsmall-scale enterprises,severe product homogeneity,and frequent false advertising.Additionally,consumers have misconceptions about the products and lack trust in them. Based on these issues,this paper proposes regulatory countermeasures fromthree aspects (government,enterprises,and society)as follows: improving thelegal system and qualitystandards, establishing a multi-departmental collaborative regulatory mechanism; strengthening corporate primary responsibility and quality control throughout the entire suply chain;and improving consumer education systems and public opinion supervision mechanisms.The aim is to promote the healthy development of China’s functional health food industry towards standardization,branding,andhighquality,providing industrialsupportfortheconstructionof "Healthy China".
