Abstract:This studyevaluatesthesafetyofSalvia miltiorhiza ethanolextractedthrough multiple toxicological tests, and the results indicate that it has good food safety.This study aims to evaluate the safety of ethanol extract of Salvia miltiorrhizaand provideatheoreticalbasis forits developmentinfoodand pharmaceutical fields.Aseries of tests were conducted inaccordance with GB 15193.1—2014 "National Food Safety Standard Procedures for Food Safety Toxicological Evaluation",including the acute toxicity test,Ames test,mousebone marrow polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus test,mouse sperm malformation test,andrat9O-dayoral toxicitytestto evaluate thesafetyof ethanol extractof in Salvia miltiorhiza.The resultsareas follows.Acute toxicity:The LD5Oof theacute oraltestin mice is >10.0g/kg⋅ bw, which was classified as non-toxic.Genetic toxicity: Ames test, mouse bone marrow polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus test,and mouse sperm malformation testare all negative.Long-term toxicity:No obvious toxicityisobserved intherat9O-dayoral toxicitytest.Inconclusion,undertheexperimentalconditions,theethanol extract ofSalvia miltiorrhiza isanon-toxicsubstane,andnoacute,subchronicorgenotoxicityisshown,indicating that the test substance has a certain level of safety.
