"White Gate Recipe" : A Dietary Account of the Spatial Changes in Nanjing City

Abstract: As an important reference documenting the dietary culture of Nanjing City during the Republic of China period,"WhiteGateRecipe"does notonlycarrtheflavor memoryoflocal Nanjing,butalsocontainsdietaryindications of the changes inurban space.This paper takes "The White GateRecipe" as the research object,incombination withthe historicalcontextof Nanjing's urban development,and explores the interconstruction relationship between dietaryculture and the changes in urbanspace.Meanwhile,a mirror-like presentationofthenatural geography,urban functions,social culture and otherurban spatial dimensions of Nanjing during the Republicof China period is made from the perspective of regional cuisine.
