Study on the Economic Impact of Standards Interconnectivity among BRICS Countries —AnEmpirical Simulation Based on theGTAPModel

Abstract：AgainstthebackdropoftheUnitedStatesarbitrarilywieldingtariffsticksandthesluggishrecoveryoftheglobal economy，standards interconnectivity，as acrucial means toreduce non-tariff bariers and deepen economic and trade coperation，holds significant importanceforthe economic development ofBRICS countries and even the world.This paper focuses onthe profound impact of standards interconnectivity among BRICS countries on their respective economies and conducts rigorous empiricalsimulations using the model of GTAP（Global Trade Analysis Project）.The study finds that enhanced standards interconnectivity among BRICS countries can significantly promote economic growth and welfare improvement in Chinaandother BRICS nations，witha particularly notable boosting effect onexports of advantageous industriessuchas electronic productsand mechanical equipment.Furthermore，thedegreeofstandards interoconnectivity showsa positivecorelation withpositie economic effects，andoverallbenefitscanstillbeachieved through diffrentiated regionalcolaboration.Thispaperprovidesstrong theoreticalsupportanddecision-makingbasis forBRICScountries toattach importance to and actively deepen standardization cooperation and optimize trade policies.
