WU Jing
Abstract: Chemistry is a discipline with a long history, and thanks to the research of experts and scholars in related fields, a large number of chemical substances have been discovered. How to scientifically name these chemicals is also a matter of great concern in the academic community. China published the Principles of Chemical Nomenclature as early as 1933, which can provide reference for the naming of chemical substances. With the development of chemical substance research in related fields, chemists have referred to this document to develop about 200 new chemical words to name newly discovered chemical substances, effectively solving the problem of chemical substance naming. This article focuses on the use of chemical characters and pronunciation issues from the perspective of Chinese characters, analyzes the methods of character creation, points out the problems and techniques in pronunciation, and further summarizes the Chinese naming rules, pronunciation characteristics, and reasons for chemical substances and elements.
