Research on the Construction of Terminology System and Teaching Reform of “Palliative Care” Course in Vocational Nursing Based on Job Competence//YANG Lulu, ZHANG Zhengyan, HE Rui
Abstract: As China transitions into an aging society with coexisting multiple diseases, the value of palliative care in the medical service system has become increasingly prominent. It not only focuses on disease treatment but also emphasizes comfort care, psychological support, and the maintenance of life dignity in the terminal stage, which imposes higher demands on nursing professionals. Based on the competency model, this study explores the construction of a terminological system and teaching reform strategies for the “Palliative Care” course in higher vocational nursing education. The research proposes a hierarchical and categorized core terminological system built on six dimensions: knowledge, skills, social roles, self-awareness, traits, and motivation. Three major strategies are introduced to facilitate the teaching transformation of terminology: contextualized teaching, multi-role interaction, and humanistic value guidance. The study argues that terminology serves not only as a carrier of knowledge but also as a tool for expressing job competencies and professional beliefs. This framework helps enhance students’ job adaptability and clinical competency, providing new insights for the reform of higher vocational nursing education.
