Research on the Acquisition and Application of Professional Terminology in College English Teaching// LIU Xin

Abstract: As a crucial medium for the internationalization of higher education, the acquisition and application of specialized terminology in university English teaching play a pivotal role in discipline knowledge construction, academic communication, and professional competence development. However, current terminology acquisition in university English teaching faces practical challenges such as monotonous teaching methods, insufficient contextual support, and difficulties in translating learning into practical application. Based on second language acquisition and English for Specific Purposes (ESP) teaching theories, this article explores practical pathways for terminology acquisition and application in university English teaching. Through strategies such as schema construction, task-driven learning, and reflective practice, this paper aims to facilitate the effective transformation of terminological knowledge into language application skills, thereby enhancing the professionalization of university English teaching and students' advanced language application abilities.
