AbstractCase teaching is an important way to improve the quality of professional degre graduate education and promote teaching reform.The article takes the advanced tunnel mechanics course at Henan Universityof Technology as an example，analyzes the nature ofthe course and the learning situation，and elaborates on the necesityofimplementing caseteaching. It proposes a teaching philosophy that uses cases as a carier to organically integrate basic knowledge， coursecontent，scientificresearchtopics，andcuting-edgedisiplines，andcombines specific teachingcontent tocayout case teaching design for the advancedtunnelmechanics course.Practice has shownthatcase teaching efectively improves the teaching effectiveness of the course.
