Discussion on the Reshaping of the Educational Function of Traditional Volunteer Service Projects
Based on a Case Study of Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College

Abstract Taking Guizhou Industry Polytechnic Collge as an example, this paper focuses on the insufficient educational function of traditional volunteer service projects. Based on the three psychological needs of "autonomy, competence,and relatedness" in Self-Determination Theory (SDT),it explores the path and practical mechanism for volunteer service projects to transform from "formalization"and "task-oriented" to "systematic educational carriers". Through caseanalysis,it is found that thecollegehas achieved systematic reforms of volunteer services in three dimensions: participation mode,content design,and organizational form by constructingan "autonomous selection mechanism",a "professional empowerment mechanism",andan "emotional community mechanism".Thesereforms have significantly improved students' participation enthusiasm, professional abilities,and social responsibility.
