Abstract: Water Pollution Control Engineering is a core course for environmental engineering undergraduate student. Based on the emerging engineering education and outstanding environmental engineers cultivation, the teaching team has carried out the application and practice of the flipped classroom model based on project-based teaching in the teaching reform. The team mainly explored actively in teaching content, teaching mode and teaching results evaluation. The course content system was reconstructed based on project-based teaching and all the teaching contents were linked through practical engineering design project. The teaching mode of mixed online and offline project-driven and university-enterprise collaboration was established. Moreover, a diverse evaluation system integrating the project-based teaching towards the achievement of the ability to solve complex environmental engineering problems was created. It has been proved that this teaching mode stimulated students learning interests and potential, comprehensively improved students engineering practice ability, and helped environmental engineering students to grow up and become successful.
