Abstract: Composites is a specialized elective course for master's students majoring in Materials Science and Engineering at Hebei University of Technology. It plays an important role in the professional talent cultivation system by deepening students' understanding of cutting-edge knowledge and fostering their scientific research and innovation capabilities. In response to the issues identified by teaching practices in recent years, the teachers have revised and optimized the course content in accordance with the graduate program and syllabus. Additionally, teaching resources have been developed and enriched, diverse teaching methods have been implemented, assessment approaches have been reformed, and feedback mechanisms have been improved. The outcomes of the curriculum development demonstrate that the renewed teaching design has notably enhanced students' active engagement in learning, broadened their disciplinary knowledge system, improved their research competence, and cultivated their ability to conduct innovative research, thereby fully achieving the intended course objectives. Furthermore, the experience gained from this course reform serves as a valuable reference and model for the development of other courses.
