Abstract: Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics serves as a fundamental compulsory course for science and engineering students at universities, forming a crucial foundation for fostering innovative capabilities and problem-solving skills of students. Firstly, this paper analyzes existing challenges in current teaching. In order to tackle them, this study employs various aspects such as case design, animation development, ideological integration within cases, and sample selection. Using the discipline of ship and ocean engineering as an example, we seamlessly incorporate relevant case studies into the entirety of classroom instruction. This paper investigates a novel pedagogical approach that merges the characteristics of probability theory and mathematical statistics with the unique attributes of the marine engineering field. The aim of the study is to achieve synchronous resonance among knowledge dissemination, skill development, and value orientation within the teaching framework of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, ultimately facilitating silent moistening of ideological and political education in the curriculum against the backdrop of new engineering paradigms.
