Research on Risk Factorldentificationand Risk Assessment for the Dambreak of Tailings Pond

Abstract: Tailings ponds are key facilities inmines,andcontroling theriskofdam failure is crucial.This paper introduces the compositionand structure of tailings ponds,as wellas their types,and then reviews theadvantages and disadvantagesofmainstream dam failurerisk assessmentmethods.Fivekeyrisk factors fordam failureare identified: seepage damage,flood overtopping,dam slope instability,liquefaction due to earthquakes,and deficiencies insafety management.A three-levelcausalanalysisframework of "shallowphenomena-intermediate factors-deeproots"is constructedtoreveal the intrinsic logicamong thefirst threefactors.Finally,it is pointedout that integrating multiple intellgent algorithms isan effective wayto achieve systematicand quantitativerisk asessmentof tailings ponds, aiming to provide theoretical basis and practical reference for thesafety risk asessment and prevention of tailings ponds.
