Abstract: The physical education theory course, as a part of the theoretical knowledge system in college students' public physical education course, is an important way to cultivate students' all-round development. Against the background of the Healthy China strategy, combined with the goals and tasks of ideological and political construction in colleges and universities, the rich connotation of ideological and political education and the teaching design of ideological and political education in physical education and health theory courses are beneficial to play a synergistic role in the fundamental task of cultivating students and realize the goal of educating students. Starting from four aspects: combing and refining the teaching objectives of ideological and political courses, integrating and unifying the teaching contents, improving the teaching team, and making the evaluation contents scientific and complete, we should improve the system of ideological and political courses, timely adjust and actively improve it, which will help enrich the practice of teaching reform, tap the resources of ideological and political education, improve the evaluation system of courses, and enhance the effectiveness of the construction of ideological and political courses.
