Abstract: Under the background of new engineering disciplines, the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents is a beneficial attempt in higher education reform and a timely response to social needs. The medical information engineering major is a new engineering discipline that combines medicine and information. In the research on the talent cultivation model for the students, a cross-disciplinary, cross-professional, and cross-field perspective should be adopted, and students should be comprehensively and meticulously cultivated based on social demands. We should actively explore and practice the "university-medical institution-enterprise" trinity collaborative education model. This project aims to construct a talent cultivation system for the medical information engineering major based on the outcome-based education and CDIO engineering education concepts, in the context of the development of new engineering disciplines, with the aim of cultivating applied medical information engineering talents who have solid knowledge in the intersection of medicine and information science and strong innovation capabilities.
