Abstract: With the deepening of the concept of liberal education, the design of hydrologic teaching requires innovation to adapt to the needs of talent cultivation in the new era. This paper explores innovative approaches to hydrologic teaching design within the context of liberal education from four aspects: the modularization of teaching content, its integration with practical experience, the incorporation of ideological and political elements, and the empowerment of teaching through Artificial Intelligence (AI). By modularizing the knowledge system of hydrology in liberal education and combining theory with practice using real-case studies or experiments, it aims to increase students' interest in learning and their capability to address real issues. The integration of ideological and political elements embodies the objective of liberal education to cultivate students' overall quality, while AI empowerment facilitates the intelligent management of liberal education courses, allowing for the realization of personalized learning and assessment.
