Abstract: In order to find the way of development of safety engineering in agricultural colleges and universities and realize the goals of training innovative talents, this paper deeply analysed the connotation of safety engineering, common safety accidents in production and life and the basis of modern industrial development. Based on the analysis, social needs for safety talents were dissected and curriculum system of general safety, safety of agriculture, rural area and farmers, and practice inside and outside the classroom were built. And then the training program of safety engineering with agricultural characteristics were built and applied, which called six integration training program and integrated by general safety and industry safety, agriculture and engineering, and practice inside and and outside the classroom. Practice results showed that the training program could greatly improve students' innovation ability and employment rate, and employers' satisfaction. The training program points out the direction for the construction of safety engineering in agricultural colleges and universities in China, and provides reference for the construction of safety engineering in other colleges and universities.
