The Current Situation and Development of Fiber Optic Connectors for Automotive Wiring Harnesses

【Abstract】 With the increasing demand for lightweighting of automotive wiring harnesses,fiber optic transmission has becomeakey technical pathduetoits numerousadvantages.Fiberopticconnectorsarethecorecomponentsoffiber optictransmission.This paper clasifies fiberoptic connectors bycoupling methods into physical contact type and beam expansion type.Itsystematically elaborates on the basic structures,core features,and latest technologicaladvancements of beam expansion type fiberoptic connectors,contact-type multi-fiber push-in connectors,fiber rotation conectors, and vehicle-mounted optoelectronic hybrid connectors.It analyzes the applicable scenarios and advantages of various connectorsand providesareferencefortheapplicationoffibers inautomotive wiringharnesss,helping with theresearch and promotion of related technologies.
