Abstract:The replacement method for exploiting natural gas hydrates has theadvantage of stabilizing reservoirs,but the replacement reactionrate is slow and the construction is complex.Amethod was proposed for the exploitation of natural gas hydrates using the heat released by the reaction ofself-generated heat systems (ammonium chloride,sodium nitrite, hydrochloric acid, anhydrous calcium chloride) and the generated N2 to assist CO2 replacement. Simulating natural gas hydrate reservoirs, experiments were conducted under low temperature and high pressure conditions using a self-generated heat system assisted CO2 replacement to exploit natural gas hydrates. The optimal amount of CO2 was selected,and replacement exploitation of natural gas hydrates was carried out using this amount of CO2 alone. The exploitation eficiency was calculated based on gas chromatography analysis results and compared.The results showed that the exploitation effciency of the self-generated heat system assisted CO2 exploitation of natural gas hydrates experiment could reach 57.06% ,which was 27.88 percentage points higher than that of CO2 replacement exploitation of hydrates alone.The research results provide a basis for the application of self-generated heat system assisted CO2 (20号 replacement in the exploitation of natural gas hydrates.
