Abstract: To improve the service performance of asphalt pavement,the polymer modification technology is usually used to improve the performance of asphalt binders.The polymer modifier represented by SBS improves the high and low-temperature performanceofasphalt,but theearlyruting disease stillexists in the asphalt pavement,and the SBS modificationprocessiscomplicated.Tofurtherimprove the high-temperatureperformanceofasphalt pavement materials and reduce the risk ofroad rutting,Ethylene-Copolymer-Bitumen (ECB) was used to modify the base asphalt, and the effect ofECB on the high-temperature performance ofasphalt was evaluated through conventional performance tests and high-temperature rheological tests.The results indicated thattheECB polymer reduced the penetration of the asphaltand increasedthesofteningpointandthepenetration indexof theasphalt.WiththeincreaseofECBcontent(mass fraction,the same below),the improvement of ECB on the conventional performance of asphalt was more obvious. When the ECB content was 7% ,thepenetration of the modified asphaltwasreduced by 41.6% and the softening point was increased by 23.5% compared with the base asphalt. Rheological test results showed that ECB increased the complex modulus of asphaltandreduced the phase angle,that was,ECB improvedtheelasticrecoveryperformanceofasphalt. Therutting resistance of asphalt increased with the increase ofECBcontent,but the fatigue performance was the opposite.The efect of ECB on the high-temperature performance of asphalt was affected by the loading speed.The faster the loading speed, the less obvious the modification effect was. On the whole,ECBcould significantly improve the high-temperature performance of asphalt.
