Abstract:Wax precipitation in crude oil isa keyfactor affecting itslow-temperaturefluidity and transportation eficiency.Inthis studydiferential scaningcalorimetry(DSC)wasused tosystematicallyinvestigate theeffectsof different cooling rates on the wax precipitation behavior of crude oil. The results showed that the cooling rate significantly influenced the crystalization heat behavior and precipitation characteristics of wax.Under slow cooling (1 C⋅min-1) , the wax precipitation process was more complete, crystal growth was more thorough, the exothermic peak was broader with greater heat release, resulting in increased viscosity andreduced fluidity. In contrast, rapid cooling(10 ∘C⋅min-1 induced quick nucleation, smaller crystal sizes, and incomplete wax precipitation, but better fluidity.Microscopic imageanalysisconfirmed that thecoolingratealsoregulated thecrystal morphologyand distribution density. These findings provide theoretical and experimental support for optimizing the low-temperature fluidity of crude oil and formulating appropriate cooling strategies.
