Research on Optimization Algorithm of Leather Cutting and Typesetting Based on Computer Vision

Abstract: In the productionof leather goods,the cost of raw materials is high.To effectivelyreduce production costs,it is necessary toincrease theutilizationrateof leather.Toaddress the problems oflow efficiencyand severe material waste in traditional manual layout,this paper proposes a leather automatic cutting and layout method that integrates computer vision and inteligent optimization algorithms.Firstly, the leather contourand surface defect areas are located byusing image preprocessng, edge detection and contour extraction algorithms,and the available areas and defectareas are digitized.Then,the contours of the leather pieces to becutare feature encoded,andautomatic layout iscarried out by combining the improved genetic algorithm and the lowest horizontal line algorithm.In the layout stage,defects are dynamically avoided.Finalyoperationssuch as rotationand mirroring are introduced to seekhigher materialutilization.Experimentalresults show thatcompared with traditional manual layout,this method achieves an increase in material utilization of 8% to 12% ,and the layout efficiency is also significantly improved. It can provide an important technical path for intelligent and refined production in the leather industry.
