Comparative Study on the Application of RTK and PPK in the Acquisition of Offshore Underwater Geographic Information Data of Jiangsu

Jiangsu Province Surveying & Mapping Engineering Institute,Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, 21oo13 China Abstract: This paper introduces the application principles of Real-Time Kinematic (RTK)and Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) technologies,and compares their performance in underwater surveyingand mapping of non communicationareas near Jiangsu.The study reveals that both methods have their own advantagesand disadvantages in communication mode,operation mode,operation distance,and positioning accuracy,but the acuracy of PPK is significantly higher than thatofPTK.RTK technology,which reliesonreal-timecommunication,issuitable for small-scale real-time operations near the shore;PPK technology,with thehelpof post-procesing data,can overcome communication limitations and playan advantage in surveying and mapping in remote areas without communication.Therefore,it has higher applicability in underwater surveying and mapping inremoteareas near Jiangsu and can achieve the expected results.
