Evolution of the Chinese Term for Group,Ring and Field/ /LI Yingchao

Abstract:Theestablishmentofthetranslationnames“group”“ring"and“field”isamodelworkoftheintegrationof Chineseand Westerathematicalideas.Chinesemathematicianshavecreativelyutilizedtheideographiccharacteristicsandculturalcootations ofChinesecharacterstolocalizeandrecreatethesethreecorealgebraicconcepts.Thishasenabledthemtomaintaintherigorousstructureof WestemmathematicswhilebeingdeeplyrootedinthecontextoftheChineselanguage,achievingaperfectcombinationofabstractmathemacaltinkingndtraditioalChineseexpresion.Tesucefulestablismntoftistemnogsstenlylaida solidfoundationfortediseminationanddevelopmentofagebrainChina,utalsoiglightedtheuniqueadvantagesandvialityof the Chinese language in accepting and reconstructing modern scientific concepts.
