Realistic Challenges and Breakthrough Pathways in Cultivating University Rowing Talents from the Perspective of Integrating Sports and Education

[Abstract] This study examines the university rowing talent cultivationsystem under the background ofthe integration of sportsand education.The study reveals that current cultivation efforts face three realistic challenges：theconflict betweenacademic and training objectives restricts the comprehensive developmentof student athletes;The lack of dispersed and collaborative mechanisms in resource supply hinders the effectiveness of cultivation; Narrow growth pathways undermine the motivation for sustainable talent development.Targeted systematic breakthrough pathways are proposed： It establishes a flexible credit management system to promote the integration ofacademic and athletic training; It createsan operational mechanism for multi-stakeholder colaborative education to integrate resources;It expands development pathways that connect academic pursuits with profesional careers to enhance the talent retention.
