Determination of Five Heavy Metal Elements in Vegetables by Microwave Digestion-Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry

Abstract:Arapidanalytical method was developed forthe simultaneous determinationoffive heavy metal elements (Pb, Cd,Hg,Asand Cr)invegetables.Vegetablesamples were pretreatedby microwave digestion,andtheanalysis was performed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The results show that allfive heavy metal elements are good within the set concentration range, with correlation coeficients all ⩾0.9995 .The limits of detection are 0.005~0.08μg/g ,the limits of quantification are 0.015~0.24 μg/g , the relative standard deviations are 1.2% 4.8% and the spiked recovery rates are 86.7%~106.7% . A total of six common vegetables, such as leafy vegetables, solanaceous vegetables androot vegetables,are selectedforreal measurement.Insomesamples,thereare trace amounts of leadandcadmium exceeding thestandardlimits.Thismethodisrapid,efficient,accurateandreliable,whichis suitable for batch detection of multiple heavy metal elements in vegetables.
