Abstract: The Soviet-German War, also known as “the Great Patriotic War”, was fought by the Soviet Union against the aggression of Nazi Germany during World War II and constituted a major part of that global conflict. This paper argues that during the Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945, Soviet women played an indispensable role in the immense contributions made by the Soviet people to the victory of the global anti-fascist war Breaking through traditional gender restrictions, they actively engaged in production in both industry and agriculture, supplying materials to the front and providing the country with strong logistical support. They also enthusiastically enlisted in the military or joined partisan units, fighting valiantly against the brutal German army on the front lines to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity. They made tremendous sacrifices, and a great number of female heroes emerged during this period.
