Abstract: Under deep British intervention, Faisal I assumed the throne of Iraq in August 1920. During his reign, the Iraqi government faced social challenges such as weak national cohesion, the construction of a nation-state, and the integration of social groups the top priority in governance. Through a series of administrative measures combining rewards and punishments, the Faisal dynasty's rule in Iraq became increasingly solidified. However, constrained by British interference in administration and the passive response of domestic minority groups, the national construction in Iraq under Faisal I did not achieve ideal results, sowing seeds of future instability for the country's democratic development and long-term growth.
