Abstract：AsafoundationalcoursefortheChinese LanguageandLiteraturemajorinhighereducation，Modern Chineseisrichin ideologicalandpoliticalelements.Amongthem，theteachingojectivesof“AnItroductiontoChineseCharacters”aretohelpstudents understandwhatwritingsystemsareadowCinesecharactersorgiated，asellastograspteirharacteristsndfunctios.Cinse charactersplayauniqueroleinforgingastrongsenseofcommunityfortheChinesenation.Throughouttheir historicalevolution，the culturalessnceofChinesecharactershasremainedconstant，servingasthenduringsouloftheChinesenationalcommunityAsan ideographic writingsystem，theyembodyaunifiedmodeoftinking.Theirsquare-structuredforeflectsasenseofcolectivityTheir strongcapacitytodistinguishhomophones makesthemthemostsuitablewritingsystemforrecordingtheChineselanguage.TheirtranstemporalnatureindsCnesepeoplefroallregiostgetr.oreover，hrouhontiuousdevelopent，thyaveorganicallbsobe foreigncultures，embodying tepricipleofharmonyindiversity，andhavehelpedcountrieswithintheChinesecharacterculturalsphee actively construct their own national cultures.
