The Sinicization Mechanism and New Changes of English Loanwords in Chinese in the Network Context

Abstract:Inthecontextofglobalizationanddigialization,languagecontactisdeepening，withEnglishloanwordsservingasan importantsourceofChinesevocabularyexpansion.Te“sinicization”ofsuchloanwordsinChineseithekeyprocessthatenablesemto beaceptedandusedbyChinesespeakersHwever,theInteretasspawednewformsofEnglishanwords，suchasleteredwordsand Chinese-Englishmash-ups，whichhavesparkedcontroversyovertheconceptof“sinicization”.Thispaperexaminesthesenewformsand theircoectiontosinicizatioaalyzstheircauses，andthrebyenrichs tethoryofsinicizationofChineseloawordswhileoering reference for language contact research and internet language development.
