Abstract: Aiming at the frequent occurrence of process failures of helicopter engine bracket welding components, which is a key product of aviation equipment, the company systematically carries out Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Based on historical failure data (weld defect rate of 50%, deformation rate of 34%), the company constructed a special severity evaluation criterion, and identified 9 high-risk links (RPN>125), such as measurement allowance and trimming gap, in 25 welding processes, process by process. Through the implementation of process instruction optimization, the development of special tools (such as micro-electric cleaning equipment), argon gas purity control and standardization of welding parameters and other improvement measures, the key process RPN value has been significantly reduced (e.g., pre-welding cleaning link RPN from 448 to 120). After the improvement, the product qualification rate was significantly increased, which verified the engineering value of PFMEA in preventing process failure and improving reliability in the manufacture of aviation shutdown parts..
