Abstract： Given the characteristics of engineering consulting， such as knowledge intensity， strong regulatory compliance， and high dependence on reliable information， this paper systematically investigates the integrative innovation and practical application of retrieval-augmented generation （RAG） in the field of engineering consulting. First， this paper analyzes the application mechanisms and use scenarios of RAG within this domain. Second， through the examination of representative case studies， it explores the unique value of RAG in improving knowledge retrieval efficiency， enhancing decision interpretability， and lowering professional barriers. Finally， the paper identifies existing challenges and proposes directions for improvement， offering valuable insights for the deeper empowerment of artificial intelligence in the engineering consulting industry.
