Abstract: The Yuyao Taojialu River Flood Discharge and Water Supply Hub Project is a basin-scale integrated water management initiative aimed at resolving interdependent flood control, drainage, and water supply challenges in the Yao River Basin. Based on the general layout of the project, this paper details the configuration and design of metal structures across four key components: the drainage pumping station, the sediment-flushing sluice, the Shiyitanghengjiang regulating sluice, and the water supply pumping station. By analyzing hydraulic parameters (water levels and flow rates) and functional requirements, the structural types, main specifications, and operation modes for the complete set of metal equipment—including trash cleaners, gates, and trash racks—were determined. Furthermore, the selection criteria for hoisting mechanisms and the principles governing operational scheduling are explicitly articulated. Upon completion, the project will optimize regional drainage infrastructure, substantially enhance flood resilience and water supply reliability, and deliver significant socioeconomic benefits—including improved aquatic ecology and strengthened regional water security.
