Abstract： As a special stratum widely distributed in the area along the Yangtze River in Anhui Province， the Paleogene conglomerate has a crucial impact on the safety and quality of engineering construction. Through in-depth research on the Paleogene conglomerate in this area， this paper further reveals the intrinsic relationship among its formation mechanism， structural characteristics and engineering characteristics， and provides scientific and reasonable parameters and design basis for engineering construction.
